Nature Tours and Cruises. Join Naples Marina and Excursions for an exciting nature cruise aboard our multi passenger vessels, including the "Spoonbill". From small private parties to large events with many guests, we have the ability to accommodate various needs.
The tour will begin along "one of the cradles of the ocean" the Cocohatchee River, "one of ten, critically important estuaries in Southwest Florida." As we glide along the river, keep a watchful eye for some of the many species that inhabit the area, including water fowl, reptiles, and more. Around the bends, we may encounter an increasingly rare animal, the endangered manatee.
Current statistics suggest that only some 2,400 - 3,200 remain in the southeastern US. Most of these are concentrated in Florida year round. As we approach the Gulf of Mexico, osprey and eagles may soar overhead, in search of fish, while wading birds can be observed seeking crustaceans and other delicacies. On most occasions, we will see dolphins hunting, bow riding, or playfully interacting.
Our knowledgeable Captains will give you an historical account of the Native Americans who inhabited the area and about battles fought with pirates, Ponce de Leon & his crew. On our last tour of the day, experience an extraordinary color show and try to catch a "green flash" as the sun sets in the Gulf of Mexico.
